About Us

Tree Pals is an exciting initiative under the Maryland-based NGO Trees for the Future. Tree Pals consists of tree planting projects and an educational exchange program between elementary and middle school students in the United States and students in developing countries around the world.

Participating schools follow a curriculum developed by Tree Pals in conjunction with school teachers that illustrates the importance of a healthy environment and highlights some of the benefits trees provide such as reducing CO2 from the atmosphere, improving the quality of lands for farming and protecting communities from landslides and natural disasters.

Schools in the US will be paired with schools abroad in a pen pal program that will describe the progress of each school’s planting project and what they are learning about the environment in the classroom.
